'Rockin' History Book Signing Event to be Held at Warden's House Museum December 13

Authors from Woodbury, White Bear Lake, and Stillwater to Attend

Sesquicentennial Mugs and Medallions Available for Stocking Stuffers!

Stillwater, Minn. – The Warden's House Museum in Stillwater will host a holiday book signing event December 13, as the Washington County Historical Society welcomes Washington County authors Anita Buck, Spike Carlsen, Bob and Nancy Goodman, Barbara Gramm, Paul Clifford Larson, Brent Peterson, Scott Schell, and Duane Thein.

The event will be held Saturday, December 13 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Mary Taylor Allen, and her string instrument students, will be on hand to provide musical entertainment. “This is the perfect time to pick up special gifts – books, mugs and medallions – for the holidays. And it’s the only time you'll be able to see the Warden's House decorated for Christmas,” said WCHS Executive Director Brent Peterson.

Rockin New Book!  Garage Sounds: Bringing Down the Houseby Scott Schell

Author Scott Schell will be signing copies of his new book that recalls the rockin' history of Washington County garage bands. The book includes hundreds of photographs from the collections of local musicians, showing band performances, the various concert venues, play lists, records, posters, memorabilia, and more. “Garage Sounds is a fascinating read for anyone who wants to recapture the cultural change that followed the Beatles and other rockers, from the 1960s and later,” Peterson said.

For individuals who cannot attend the Holiday Book Signing, the books are available at the Warden's House Museum, 602 North Main Street in Stillwater, or by mail. Please visit www.wchsmn.org/store.

Stillwater's photo restoration specialists from Images of the Past also will attend the event to provide expert advice on the restoration and preservation of historic photographs.
