DESCRIPTION:We are so excited to offer a special workshop series at the Washington County Heritage Center featuring experienced writers to guide you to creating a fun and meaningful piece of writing! \n>>>Register here<<<\nSession 1: Thursday\, October 3 @ 7-8:30pm\nIntroduction and Personal History\nWorkshop Leaders: Gary Goodman\, Emily Krawczewski \nSession 2: Thursday\, October 10 @ 7-8:30pm\nChildhood Memories\nWorkshop leaders: Frank White \nSession 3: Thursday\, October 17 @ 7-8:30pm\nHometown Stories\nWorkshop leaders: Meg Heaton and Eleanor Wilhelmi \nSession 4: Thursday\, October 24 @ 7-8:30pm\nAncestors and Family Stories\nWorkshop Leaders: Bill McGrath \nBonus: Saturday\, November 2 @ late afternoon or evening (TBD)\nA celebration of the workshop participants’ hard work and provide them with the opportunity to read a portion of their writing\, share an outline for a future project\, or anything else they’d like to share that they created during the series. Details to come! \n  \nOutline for Each Session \n7-7:15pm: Workshop leader introductions \n7:15-7:30pm: Discuss recommended reading (if applicable) \n7:30-7:50pm: Individual writing time \n7:50-8:15pm: Break into small groups for feedback and sharing \n8:15-8:30pm: Group share/wrap up \n\nParticipants\nWe are planning to cap the series at 20 participants.\n \n \n\nSeries Pricing \n$125/person for non-WCHS members for full workshop series \n$100/person for WCHS members for full workshop series \nParticipants will need to sign up for all four sessions in the series. No exceptions. \nWCHS will provide pens\, pencils\, notebooks\, and enthusiasm! \n  \nOctober 3 Workshop Session\nThe topic for this workshop session will be an introduction to the series as well as a personal history questionnaire brainstorm. \nMeet your workshop leaders for October 3: \nGary Goodman\nGary Goodman has been a used and rare book dealer in Minnesota for nearly forty years and has an avid interest in people’s historical recollections of Stillwater and Washington County. He co-founded St. Croix Antiquarian Booksellers and the Stillwater Book Center and had a hand in Stillwater becoming known as the First Booktown in North America in the mid-1990s. He is the author of The Last Bookseller (published by the University of Minnesota Press in 2021 and now out in paperback) and co-authored The Stillwater Booktown Times and The Secret History of Golf in Scotland. \nGary Goodman \nEmily Krawczewski\nEmily is the Site Manager at the Washington County Heritage Center. Emily is passionate about history and making connections between the past and present. A native of Ohio\, Emily graduated from Miami University with a B.A. in mass communication. Emily earned a Master of Library & Information Science with a focus in archives from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2020\, for which she interned at the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum and other repositories. Outside of work\, she enjoys being out on the lake\, listening to country music\, and petting every dog.
