National Toast Day Celebration!

February 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm CST

Just over a century ago, Charles Strite was employed at a local manufacturing plant. Fed up with burned toast in the cafeteria, a great idea “popped” into his head, and the Toastmaster automatic electric toaster was born!

About the event:

  • Enjoy a program about the history of toast and view our antique toaster collection.
  • Sample toast and toppings from local bakeries and markets, and vote for your favorite to be named Toast of the Town.
  • Listen to Warden’s House Site Manager Heidi Heinze tell the history of the automatic pop-up toaster and its origins in Stillwater!

Toast Tasting begins at 6:00pm
Program begins at 6:30pm

Admission is free, but donations are accepted. For more information please contact heidi.heinze@wchsmn.org
