Our brand-new Education Center at the Washington County Heritage Center is perfectly outfitted for meetings, classes, and gatherings.

If you want to give your attendees the full museum experience, choose “Education Center + Exhibits” for access to our three large gallery spaces featuring the topics of 1860s-1960s Fashion, Photographer John Runk, and the “From the Woods to the World” Lumber Exhibit.

Fees and Payment

Payments

WCHC will send the client an information sheet via JotForm to determine event details and pricing. After WCHC receives the completed form from the client, WCHC will issue an invoice based on the information provided by the client.

Payments must be received at least 48 hours before the event date. If an event is cancelled by the client less than 24 hours in advance of the event’s start time, WCHS requires 50% of the Grand Total to be paid to WCHS by the client.

WCHC accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Card: Payments via a debit or credit card can be made in person at WCHC or over the phone at 651-439-2298. WCHC uses Square to process payments.

Note: If the client opts for the “Education Center + Exhibits” option, WCHC will reconcile any changes in the client’s attendee count through an additional invoice (if more guests attend than estimated) or a refund (if fewer guests attend than estimated) at the time of the event.

Client accepts responsibility for all vendor(s) and guests and will be held financially responsible for any damages incurred by the vendor(s) and/or guests.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations for a full refund of the rental payment must be made at least 24 hours in advance. If the event cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, WCHC will keep 50% of the rental payment and refund the other 50% back to the client.

Food and Beverage

All food and beverage must be consumed inside the building and is limited to the Education Center. Please do not bring food or beverages of any kind into the exhibit spaces.

WCHS partners exclusively with Scheel’s Catering, conveniently located right next door to WCHC. If the client plans to work with an outside caterer, all arrangements for delivery and cleanup must be arranged by the client.

If the client plans to serve food in any fashion, there is a $20 cleaning fee.

To serve alcohol at any event, the client must acquire a temporary liquor license through the City of Stillwater. Click on this link for more information and to acquire a license. 

Alcohol must be served inside the Education Center and open containers cannot be taken outside of the building.

COVID-19 Safety

WCHC strives to stay updated on all CDC recommendations. Please review the latest reports at https://www.cdc.gov/  and plan accordingly.

Decorations

Clients may not attach décor to the walls inside the Education Center. The use of confetti, silly string, sand, or glitter is not permitted.

Parking

There are 60 parking spaces located on the side and rear of WCHC. After 5pm on weekdays and on weekends, clients also have access to WCHC’s neighbor VistaTech’s parking lot, increasing capacity to 100 spaces. Handicap-accessible parking is located on the side of our building by the entrance.

ADA Compliance

Everything inside WCHC is ADA accessible and there are no stairs to enter the building.
Bus parking is located behind the building, and busses may drop guests off at the covered sidewalk at the side of the building for easy access to the entrance.

We do not have wheelchairs available, so please plan according to your needs.
